A great perspective

She states that achieving a more youthful appearance with makeup comes down to three things. First is the application, second, the formula, and third, the technique. And she uses all of them while providing her tips.

Breaking it down

Throughout the video, Dominique goes through each step to make it easier for viewers to follow along. In the beginning, she is makeup-free. But at the end of the video, you see just how much younger she looks.

Foundation

She first shares the importance of applying moisturizer before your foundation. You can buy a new product or add moisturizer to your current foundation so it ends up a 50/50 formula. Select a light foundation that provides either sheer or tinted moisturizing coverage.

Concealer

Next, Dominique shows viewers how to hide discoloration or circles beneath the eyes. Using a brush, she applies a small amount of concealer. You can use concealer to reduce the visibility of age and sunspots.

Eyebrows

Next are the eyebrows. She advises women to be careful not to make their brows too heavy. You want to apply the right color and follow the natural arches of your brows.

Eyeshadow

For eyeshadow, Dominique suggests using a neutral palette. She also tells viewers to apply it with a “light hand.” In the video she demonstrates how to start in the corner of the eyelid, followed by filling in the main area.

Eyeliner

When applying eyeliner, keep the lines thin. She explains that heavy eyeliner can age your face. This will make a dramatic difference in your appearance.

Mascara

Perhaps one of her more interesting makeup tips is that you should apply mascara to the upper eyelashes only. Putting on the lower lashes pulls the face downward. When trying to look younger, that’s the last thing you want.

Bronzer

Dominque tells viewers if they have dry skin, they might want to skip the bronzer. Otherwise, she shows the correct places on the face and the right technique to use. When watching the video, you’ll notice how easy it is to achieve perfection.

Blush

Avoid pink circles on your cheeks. Instead, Dominique shows you how to apply blue the proper way. Use a color that compliments your skin, rather than something that stands out.

Highlighter

For a more dramatic effect, you can use a highlighter. This works by enhancing certain areas of your cheeks. This would be great when going out to dinner or to a party.

Lip liner

When selecting a shade of lip liner, Dominique recommends going with something that’s slightly darker than the lipstick. But you want to stay within the same color palette. But keep the lines thin, rather than heavy-handed.

Lipstick

Dominique shares that as women get older, they should go with a lighter shade of lipstick. The darker colors look harsh. And, you only need a small amount.
