Reunion stories are just the absolute best, and they’re often extremely heartwarming, touching, and will sometimes even bring tears to year eyes.

Whether’s it’s deployed friends and family members coming back home, or finally seeing your pet again after a lot of time has passed, reunion stories like these are always so precious and special.

Sometimes, people just give up hope that these reunions ever happen, and you could say that was the case for a man named Pat from Tennessee.

About half a year ago, Pat’s trusty and loving dog, Blue, suddenly went missing.

It appears that the four-footer wanted to explore outside, and lost his way back home. For months, his owner Pat tried to find his best friend again, but all to no avail. He kept on searching and searching, but there was never any trace of the dog.

As more and more time passed, Pat’s hopes of ever recovering Blue diminished. The man was left absolutely heartbroken, especially when he had to relocate to another state.

Pat had to move to Texas for work purposes, a trip of over 1200 miles.

Because of the move, he was sure that he’d never see his adorable dog again – but then a miracle happened.

It turns out that Blue was actually found and rescued, and he was residing at the Washington County Animal Shelter in Tennessee.

It’s still unclear why Pat didn’t know about it, but we can presume the dog wasn’t microchipped and that the shelter staff couldn’t trace Blue back to his owner.

Luckily, one of Pat’s friends visited the shelter and noticed the uncanny resemblance.

“A reunion 200 days in the making! Just over 6 months ago, Blue went missing. His owner Pat searched and searched but couldn’t find him. And then he had to move to Texas for his work. He thought he’d never see Blue again. Imagine his joy when a friend sent him a video of his dog playing ball at our shelter! He contacted us right away…”That’s my dog!” the shelter staff wrote on their Facebook page.

When the shelter staff realized what was going on, they immediately got in touch with Pat. The man didn’t hesitate for a second and wanted to go get his dog as soon as possible.

After spending more than 200 days apart and not knowing if he’d ever see his dog again, Pat was absolutely overjoyed by the unbelievable news.

He drove over 1,200 miles to come and pick up Blue and take him back home to Texas.

When the much-anticipated moment finally came, one of the employees took out a camera to film the entire thing. The video speaks more than a thousand words, but suffice to say, it was incredibly emotional and it’s just so so sweet and precious to see.

“That’s my boy,” the man shouts. “I missed you so much.”

“We don’t see many happy endings like this one. There were some tears, tons of doggie kisses and lots of smiles. What a great story! We are so happy that the dog we named Bones is back with his dad and ready to catch up on some lovins,” the shelter concluded.
