It is natural to have body odor.

It is not because of our sweat but the bacterial processes in it. Our skin breaks down protein molecules within our sweat, and the bacteria it produces combined with our sweat is what makes our body odor.

This usually originates in body parts where it often sweats.

The most common are the armpits. But other areas such as the feet, belly button, behind the ears, groin, genitals, and even the anus can have a foul odor.

Our body odor also depends on many factors in our daily lives.

This includes our diet, health condition, and the medications we take. All these can result in body odor. Plus, if you don’t have proper hygiene, that could be the main culprit, too.

Having body odor can affect one’s quality of life and the interaction with the people around.

Just like this man who had a horrible experience going to the grocery and, unfortunately, came across a woman who had an awful smell.

His wife filmed his reaction when he got home.

She asked him to describe the smell, and he can’t even find the words. He just gagged and gagged, much to the delight of his wife. She’s side-stitched laughing at her husband’s reaction.

Her husband said his stomach is already painful of gagging…

She also clarified that the intent of the video was not to make fun of the people involved. She just wanted to film her husband’s reaction because it made her laugh a good deal.

We cannot prevent body odor as it is a natural occurrence in our bodies. But there are ways we can reduce them so as not to affect the people around us. This is to increase your quality of life, too, because it boosts your confidence and self-esteem when interacting with people.

You can reduce body odor in six simple ways.

For one, keeping yourself clean by taking a bath daily is already a huge help. Using antibacterial soap can also help. Make sure to towel off well and keep yourself dry. Bacteria can quickly breed in areas that are wet or moist.

If you notice that your body odor comes from your armpits, then a deodorant could help. It’s also good if you keep your clothes clean and not repeating or re-wearing soiled ones. Change your socks and make sure that your shoes are kept in a place with air circulation and ventilation.

Lastly, a healthy diet reduces body odor a lot.

Some foods can increase body odor, especially those that make you sweat more—food like hot peppers, spicy foods, and aromatic spices like onions and garlic. Caffeinated and alcoholic drinks also make you sweat more.
