1. Eye drops can reduce facial swelling.

Inflammation of the face is no joke. Most of the time, it’s caused by some sort of acne. However, if you want to reduce the swelling, first, soak a cotton pad in redness-relieving eye drops, then freeze it for five minutes. After its nice and cold, apply the cotton pad to your face and watch the inflammation disappear.

2. Plug your ears to hear people better in noisy environments.

It sounds counterintuitive. However, if you push backward slightly on the tragus (the small flap on the edge of the ear), it will effectively block out any background noise. That way you can hear people you are talking to better. It’s really useful when you are trying to have a conversation with a friend at a loud bar or concert.

It’s an interesting theory. Apparently, the secret lies in alternating between the two behaviors. Press your tongue against the top of your mouth first, then your finger in between the eyebrows. Keep repeating it until your sinuses aren’t clogged anymore.

It’s an all-natural solution to a common problem. Skip the chemical-filled products and head straight for the olive oil to give your face that beautiful glow that you crave. Steam your face to open up the pores and then massage the olive oil in for around seven minutes. Repeat it about once a week or more as necessary.

10. Press down on the area above your lips to prevent a sneeze.

If you feel the sneeze about to happen, take your index finger and press it below your nose like you are making a “mustache”. It will cause the urge to sneeze to go away. Although, if you aren’t worried about attracting attention, the healthiest thing to do is probably just to let the sneeze out instead of trying to hold it in.

16. If you burn your tongue, drink some cold water.

We’ve all had it happen before — a sip of a hot drink or a bite of a meal fresh out of the oven can cause some serious burns. The best thing to do is to drink some cold water afterward. It will remove any lingering heat and reduce the inflammation. Try not to use an ice cube to cool down as it could stick to your tongue and actually cause more damage to the tissue.

Then repeat the process for a few minutes until the anxious feeling disappears.
